In March 2010, Sony Music Entertainment signed a US$250 million deal with JacksonMichael Jackson's estate to retain distribution rights to his recordings until 2017, and to release seven posthumous albums over the decade following his death.

First posthumous album Michael Jackson 's first posthumous album of new material, simply titled Michael, was released on December 14, 2010.

The promotional single released to the radios on November 8, entitled "Breaking NewsMichael Jackson".
